HUNT, Allison Arthur
We, the family of Allison Arthur Hunt, regret to announce his passing on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at his home in Louisbourg, NS.
Born February 5, 1950, he was the son of the late Alex and Minnie (McCuish) Hunt.
Allison graduated from high school in Louisbourg and then went on to get his teaching degree from St. F.X. He spent his career teaching in Louisbourg and volunteering with the after-school sports program. Allison was chief officer of the Navy cadets in Louisbourg and was awarded best corps in Canada.
Being very athletic, he could be seen pedaling or walking around Louisbourg, regardless of the weather. Allison played for various Louisbourg baseball teams and the Louisbourg Aces hockey team. He was also an avid tennis player and golfer. Allison enjoyed playing guitar and loved to sing.
He is survived by his sister, Katherine Haugen, California, as well as his nieces and nephews, Robert (Ellie) Levy, Janice Levy (Frank Aucoin), Alex Hunt, Sheryl Hunt, Jeff Hunt, Jamie Hunt, Sean Hunt and Jane Dalea-Kahn.
Besides his parents, Allison was predeceased by his sisters, Mae Dunn and Isabel Levy and brothers, James “Jimmy” Hunt and Alexander “Sander” Hunt.
As Allison would always say, “Keep the Faith”. “Big Al”, “Mr. Hunt”, you will certainly be missed.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Sydney Memorial Chapel. A service will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
“There never was any heart truly great and generous, that was not also tender and compassionate.”
