Allan Raymond Lott Friday June 25th 2021 avis de deces

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Allan Raymond Lott, on Friday June 25 2021, at Moira Place in Tweed Ontario, at the age of 90 years. Allan is loved and missed by his devoted and loving wife of 64 years, Phyllis (Kleinsteuber). Allan leaves treasured memories for his children, Colleen and Mike Kerby, Louise and Robb Hyatt, Kelly and Ken Preston, Lisa and Jeff Brooks, Lynda and Martin Jackson, Greg and Nicole Lott. He will be forever missed by his grandchildren, Jermey Howes, Shelby Snider (Reginald Saint Dic), Carissa (Owen Bird,) Katelyn (Curtis Lockridge), Matthew Kerby, Noah Preston, Braden Preston, Jordan (Brooke)Brooks, Drew Brooks, Dawson Jackson, Mykelty Jackson (Mark Young), Maya Lott and Katlyn Lott. As well as 10 great grandchildren. Waiting at Heaven’s gate was grand-daughter, Korin Howes.
Allan was the son of Ross and Florence Lott. Brother to Joyce (Lawrence) Foster and Doreen Thompson.
Allan was a devoted family man who loved every moment spent with his children and grandchildren. He loved working in his shop and a knack for fixing anything. He loved going for a Sunday drive and taking the back roads. He loved Maple Dale Cheese curd and he loved every kind of pie! Allan, his stories and his sense of humour will be missed by many friends and neighbors and shirt-tail cousins.
Allan was born and raised in Thurlow Township. He attended primary school locally at Maple Leaf School, high school in Belleville at BCI and attended Kemptville Agricultural College. As a young man he travelled to British Columbia, and worked in Vancouver and Powell River. He worked for a time at Corby”s Distillery in Corbyville and was a faithful patron of the Wisers Brand. Allan was a life-long farmer and raised his six kids on the same family farm that he was raised on. He shared his love of the Golden Guernsey cows with all of his kids and taught us to love, care and respect the land. He modeled for us all an amazing work ethic. He taught us that when something is broken, learn how to fix it. Or at least understand why it broke. “If you can’t fix it, respect the person who can.” Dad devoted many years to various Hasting County farm associations, always ready to volunteer his time and support for all things Agriculture. He was at his happiest when he was volunteering at the plowing match days, a tractor parade with his antique tractors, and loading kids and calves into the truck for a local fair. In 2015 Dad was so proud to be honoured as the Hasting’s County Farm Family of the Year.
Dad was an active and dedicated member of the Center Hastings Masonic Lodge #48 and was very proud to serve with Brethren Masons.Dad served in many offices to the Masonic lodge, most proudly as Worshipful Master of Tweed Chapter #239 in 1971. Dad was also a member of the Plainfield Orange Lodge #3279 .Dad was a faithful member of Roslin United Church. Being a member of all of these organizations illustrated his strong faith and commitment to community.
After suffering a stroke in November of 2015, dad became a resident of Moira Place – Long Term Care Home in Tweed. We are deeply and forever grateful for the respect, humour, love and care that dad was given there. That respect, love and care has been extended to all of our family and we are so thankful. During this last year, due to Covid 19 restrictions, we were unable to have our usual time with dad. We all knew that the staff at Moira Place were filling the gaps for us and worked so hard to keep him safe, happy and comfortable. We know he was loved there too.
Friends are invited to the John R Bush Funeral Home, Belleville Ontario, Sunday, July 4th from 2-4pm & 7-9pm. Private family service on Monday July 5th. Internment at Victoria Cemetery to follow. Donations made in Allan’s honour can be made to The Stirling Agriculture Society (Farm Town Park), Moira Place LTC, or a charity of your choice.
