Alice’s Obituary
COVEY, Alice Etta ~ Age 79, of Waterville, Kings Co. We are saddened to announce that Alice passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Berwick, on June 15, 1942, she was the middle child of the late John “Batt” and Martha (Corkum) Pearse. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her loving husband, Bill; and brother, Carl. Mom grew up in a happy home where she learned the importance of family and caring for those you love, which she never stopped doing. In her younger years she worked in retail and looked after many children along with her own. In the late 1980’s she became a consultant for Tops and Trends Clothing and made many lifelong friends travelling the Valley for home parties. She then looked after the Williams children of Berwick for many years which gave her much joy. She developed a love of crafting which led to working at Sandra’s Country Treasures until she was no longer able to do so. She believed in community and was once a Brownie leader and active in her local TOPS chapter for many years. Mom loved all her jobs and always brought her best to each of them; however, she would tell anyone who asked that her greatest role was being a mother. We cannot agree more. She loved her family and friends, cats, dogs, and babies. She enjoyed going to Frenchy’s and yard sales. And always treasured a good cup of tea and a heartfelt chat and a laugh with her good friend DeeDee. She made sure her children and grandchildren always felt her love, celebrating birthdays and holidays with passion, especially Christmas which was her favorite. She spread that joy to everyone who knew her and wished to be remembered as the great friend she aimed to be. She leaves behind to grieve her daughters, Holli (Stan) and Kelly (Bill); and son, Richard; grandchildren, Aidan (Sarah), Jenna and Nora; her sister, Marg (Eddie); and sisters-in law, Donna and Brenda (Steven); nieces and nephews, Jack (Pearl), Marie (Collie), Karen (David), Jennifer (Mark), Twila (Shawn) and Todd (Tonette); great nieces and nephews, Ian, Luke, Amber, Nicole, Jasmine, Olivia and Cody; great-great nephew, sweet Sinclair. The family would like to thank the various Victorian Order of Nurses workers who came and cared for Mom with compassion and respect as well as her special helper Taralee who was always there for her these past few years when she was unable to leave home. Our thanks also goes out to Dr Keough and the nurses of Medical A who cared for her in the toughest times when we could not be with her. Visitation will take place from 2-5 p.m., Sunday afternoon in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., toll free 1-855-825-3448. A private graveside service will be held at Berwick Cemetery with her beloved niece, Rev. Jennifer Riley officiating. Due to the current pandemic restrictions, it is now required to show proof of ID and full vaccination at indoor and outdoor ceremonies. Friends and family are welcomed to gather after at Alice’s home, 89 Ratchford Rd., Waterville, after 2 p.m., Monday, November 8, to comfort the family and share memories. Donations in memory can be made to the Kings Co. S.P.C.A. or the Parkinson Society of Nova Scotia. Online guestbook may be signed by visiting: www.middletonfuneralhome.com

But most of all, you’re my best friend”
