Campbell, William Alexander “Alex”
Suddenly, with family by his side, on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at the age of 72 Alex passed away. Beloved husband of Carol for 45 years. Cherished father to Jacob (Krystal), Caitlin (David) and Harrison (Jada). Dear grandfather of Charlotte. Brother of Joan (the late Peter Alford), Cathy (Steve) Bell. Predeceased by parents William and Margaret Campbell and sister Marilyn Gregory. He will be deeply missed by his nieces, nephews and extended family and friends and his loyal fur companions, Morley, Rosie and Lily. Alex was involved for many years with St. Stephen’s House of London and various other community organizations. He had a sincere belief in the importance of giving back to his community and lived out his belief. He enjoyed spending his summers with family and friends at Shirrock Island on Elephant Lake. And the farm in Mount Brydges he moved 42 years ago was a blank canvas where he created dreams. Alex’s business acumen and hard work contributed to the success of his insurance brokerage. One of his most endearing qualities was his sense of humour. His dry wit was such a huge part of his personality and he never failed to rise to the occasion. Cremation has taken place. Visitors are welcome at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street, London on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Memorial Service will be held at First St. Andrew’s United Church, 350 Queens Avenue, London on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at 11am. Due to Covid 19 restrictions, a limited number of people at one time are able to attend each visitation period and Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Stephen’s House of London would be greatly appreciated.
