December 21, 1937 – December 26, 2021

Blackburn, Robert Russell (Bob) – 84, of Halifax, passed away at the Palliative Care Unit, Victoria General Hospital, on Sunday, December 26, 2021. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Hillary and Helena Amy (Ryan) Blackburn.
He retired from the Victoria General Hospital as a Plant Engineering Supervisor after twenty-seven years. He enjoyed travelling extensively and spent many winters at his condominium in Kissimmee, Florida and summers at the family cottage. He was known as the handyman of the family and completed many home renovation projects over the years.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Sampson, two sons, Robert Jr. (Viola) and Blair (Joan), of Halifax; brothers Arthur (Oakville, Ontario); Leo (Lower Sackville); 3 grandchildren, Nicole (Chad), Sarah (Kyle), Ryan (Nicole), 4 great-grandchildren, Penelope, James, Mila and Shae.
He was predeceased by wife Shirley (Cranidge), Barbara (Armstrong), brothers Frederick, Donald and sister Mildred; stepfather John Howard.
Cremation has taken place under the care of Dartmouth Funeral Home and services will be announced at a later date by invitation only do to Covid. Donations in Robert’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
