We regret to announce the death of Darcy McKay, 74, on the 18th of November at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital in Sydney after a long hard battle with cancer. She was the daughter of the late Calvin and Margaret (Embree) McKay, Port Hawkesbury.
She is survived by 7 siblings: Bert(Diane); Charles(Linda); Calvin(Micheline); Buhay (Danny) McKeavney; Jimmy McKay; Johnny McKay; Cathy Andre(Aucoin); sister-in-law, Sylvia Marchand-Hopkins. She is also survived by 3 sons Gregory Felix; Stephen Felix; JJ St. Jean; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Jackie (John Earl) Hopkins.
Darcy had a heart ️ of gold. As a true testament to her kindness and generosity, she had bought and wrapped Xmas gifts for all her friends and family members while knowing that she was dying. She was always present to lend a helping hand especially to her many friends at the Seniors Complex in Port Hawkesbury. She will be missed by many due to her kindness and friendly personality.
Cremation has taken place; burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Port Hawkesbury at a later date. Donations to the Cancer Society in her honor would be greatly appreciated. Donations may be forwarded to Sylvia Marchand-Hopkins, sister-in-law either by e-transfer, sylvia2706@hotmail.com or in person to her.
