William Bill Leonard Sheedy Friday August 14th 2020

William (Bill) L. Sheedy
Peacefully on Friday, August 14, 2020, Bill ended his battle with Cancer.
Son of the late Leonard and Pearl Sheedy, Bill is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Mary nee Stevens, his sons, Daniel (Hanna), Dale (Michelle), his daughter Tina (Wes), six grandchildren, Candice, Rob, Katie, Brendan, Abbe, Emma and three great grandsons Nolan, Gavin and Declan.
Mr. Bill as he was fondly known, was born in New Liskeard, Ontario, on June 25, 1933. His love of sports began early, he was featured in numerous articles in the local newspaper heralding his many sports achievements, especially in football.
He enjoyed a long railroad career with Canadian National Railway, retiring as a Track Supervisor in 1991, after 33 years of service. He loved travelling, baseball and hockey.
Bill was an easy going man, quick to smile and always ready with a good story or joke. He had a list of sayings he loved to use, commonly referred to by his loved ones as ‘Billisms’! He was a proud and dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He was loved by all and will be sorely missed!
As per his wishes, a private family interment was held at Belleville Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Arrangements entrusted to BELLEVILLE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 68 N. Front St. Belleville (613-968-5080). Online condolences can be made by visiting www.rushnellfamilyservices.com
