Obituary of Wayne Michael Hunter
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Wayne Hunter announce his peaceful passing at the Central Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor after a lengthy illness on February 1, 2020 at the age of 57. He is predeceased by parents Nelson and Shirley Hunter, and father in-law Thomas Hannon. Left to mourn are his wife Linda, daughter Melanie (Steven), son Mark, mother-in-law Jean Hannon, brothers: Darren, Allan (Teen), Rodney (Cindy), sisters: Donna (Ed), Lisa (Darcy), and a large circle of family and friends.. Wayne spent most of his 30 year career working at Day & Ross until his illness forced him to retire early. He kept himself busy in his workshop and around his house. He loved working with wood, welding, or just completing odd jobs. Wayne’s weekends were often spent at his cabin which he built by hand with his family. He enjoyed skidooing, and ATV rides. He also loved to hunt and fish and was happiest when he was in the woods. He was known for his sense of humor and the ability to make anyone laugh. Wayne strongly felt it was his duty to lend a helping hand, often going out of his way to help out others. Wayne loved his family but most of all he loved his children: Melanie and Mark who were his life. Even though he will be greatly missed, the memories we have will always be cherished. Wayne’s family would like to thank the many people involved in his care over the last three years. We would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of 3A, 3B and 2D at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre. Also to Deon Brophy and Dr. Diedericks who provided care and support not only to Wayne but to his family during this difficult time. Your kindness and compassion is greatly appreciated and will never be forgotten. “I can no longer see you with my eyes or touch you with my hands but I will feel you in my heart forever”.
“A father is neither an anchor to hold us back nor a sail to take us there but a guiding light whose love shows us the way.” “Our father gave us the greatest gift anyone could give another person, he believed in us.”
