Virginia Emily Casey, passed away peacefully
Passamaquoddy Lodge, St. Andrews, Friday December 18,
20202
Born in St. Stephen, NB. on December 23, 1931,
daughter of the late Millidge Hanson & Margaret (Groom)
Hanson.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased
by her husband of 42 years Edward Leo Casey of St. Andrews N.B.
& Woodland ME. She is survived by her son Charles, his wife
Heather Casey and her grandson Dallas Casey, all of Saint John., NB.
A lifelong resident of St. Andrews NB, Virginia
had a long and well established career as a beautician. She started
her career in beauty service at age 18 by providing manicure services
at The Algonquin Hotel. For many years she ran the Commodore Beauty
Salon and Virginia’s Place, both in St. Andrews. She
continued working as a hairdresser until the age of 87 and only
stopped due to health complications. She enjoyed her time chatting
with friends at the salons and local restaurants. She loved to shop
and was known for her fashion sense.
An internment will be held in the spring of 2021
where she will be buried with her parents in Bocabec United Church
Cemetery, Bocabec, NB.
For those who wish, donations in memory of
Virginia may be made to the Passamaquoddy Lodge or a charity of
one’s choice.
