1933-2020
Verna Ruth Schofield – 87, of Kentville, formerly of
Baxter’s Harbour, passed away Friday, December 11, 2020 in
Shannex – Orchard Court, Kentville. Born in
Scott’s Bay, she was the daughter of the late Harry and
Daisy (Frail) Tupper. She began a teaching career in
Baxter’s Harbour, where she stayed to raise her family. She
had a love of crafts, rug hooking and quilting and had often donated
quilts to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society. She is survived
by her daughters, Bonnie (Allison) Corkum, Lower Sackville and Jean
(Jamie) McCamon, Blomidon; sons, Clayton, Canning and Bruce (Shelly),
Centreville; 10 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren;
daughter-in-law, Wendy, Glenmont; brothers, Keith and George
“Scott”, both of Scott’s Bay. She was
predeceased by her husband, Laurie; son, Calvin; brothers, Blake and
Grant. Cremation had taken place. A graveside service will
be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, Reverend Ivan
Norton officiating. in the Baxter’s Harbour Cemetery.
Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
