In loving memory of Vera Oja, who passed away December 16th, 2020 at the age of 94 years, after a courageous battle with circulation and heart problems. Vera was born in Estonia in 1926. She married the love of her life, Alfred “Volli” on December 15th, 1948 and together immigrated to Canada in 1951, and moved to Sudbury, and later to Val Caron. Beloved wife of Alfred (predeceased July 2006) and cherished mother of Viido (Shirley) of Sudbury, Robert (Nonie) of Thunder Bay, and Paul (Eda) of Toronto. Grandmother of 11 and great-grandmother of 7. Vera had a passion for flowers and gardening, and enjoyed backyard bird watching. Mom had an old-school, no-nonsense, strong work ethic, and love of life and family, which she passed on to the next generation. Vera was a member of the Estonian community of Sudbury. At Vera’s request, there will be no funeral visitation or service. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
