JOHANNA G. TE RAA – (Hietland), went home to be with her Lord and Savior, on Friday , June 5th, 2020. She passed away peacefully in Picture Butte, Alberta, with her daughter at her side, three days short of her 101st birthday.
Johanna was born in Borculo, the Netherlands on June 8, 1919, and married William te Raa on Sept 6, 1946. They immigrated to Canada in June of 1948, settling just outside of Winnipeg, Manitoba. In May of 1951 they purchased a farm north of Emo, Ontario.
Johanna, herself moved to Smithers, B.C. in Nov 1972, then moved to LaCombe, Alberta, and ultimately moved to Picture Butte, Alberta in 1984.
She was predeceased by William, in April of 2013, and is survived by her five children, Arend (Val) te Rae (Chantelle, Curtis); Gerda (Ed) Adema, (Christina, David, Jeffrey, Carolyn, Brenda); Gary (Ann) te Raa (Clayton, Leah, Kelly); Henry (dear friend Carmin); Liz (Ron) Nieboer (Chris, Jason, Bev Barb) plus thirty four great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 10th at 1:00 PM at Archmount Cemetery, with Pastor Paul from Iron Spring CRC church officiating.
