Obituary of Susan Frances Parsons, Glace Bay
Susan Frances Parsons
Glace Bay
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Susan Parsons, age 81 of Glace Bay on Thursday, January 30th, 2020 at New Waterford Hospital.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Duncan and Margaret (Fraser) MacDonald.
The core of Susan’s life was her family. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed listening to fiddle music and baking, especially tea biscuits. The tea pot was always on and ready to be served in her home. Susan was known to have a great sense of humour.
She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Ann (Andrew) MacDonald, Glace Bay, one son, Duncan, Glace Bay, one sister, Mary Daley and her beloved granddaughter, Nicole Parsons (Scott), Sydney.
Susan was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband, Gordon Parsons, who passed away on March 15th, 2011. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Donnie, Eddie and two sisters, Kay and Ann.
Cremation has taken place. Graveside prayers will be held at a later date in St. Anne’s Cemetery, Glace Bay.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at New Waterford Hospital, especially, Julia Pennie and also to Jeet at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
