Obituary
It is with broken hearts and sadness the family of Steven Robert Amos announce his passing, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, August 31, 2020. Born in Saint John on September 28, 1963 . Steve was Mechanic by trade and worked for Saint John Toyota and for Pierson’s Auto up until his health had declined. He had a huge and caring heart and was loved by all the kids in the family. Steve was a special man who always was there to lend a helping hand to all who needed help, a hand out, pick me up or anything at all. He was known as “Pooh” at work, uncle Steve, uncle Buck, uncle Bucko and Bubba to his family. He was at times the life of the party especially when playing cards and loved family gatherings and dinners. Those who knew and loved him will miss him forever. Steve is survived by the love of his life and devoted wife Kelly (Gallant) Amos of Saint John; sisters Gail Fournier (Daryl) of Saint John, Linda Ellyett (Bill) of Montreal, PQ and Faye Totton (Joe) of Barnesville; brother Rick McKay (Carol) of London, ON; father & mother-in-law Russell & Peggy Gallant of Saint John; sisters-in-law LeeAnn Wood (Chris) of Saint John and Katherine Crandlemere (Alex) of Musquash; several nieces, nephews and friends. Along with his parents, Steve was predeceased by his best friend who was like a brother Gerard Cavan and special buddy Eddie whom Steve cared for many years.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) By Steve’s request cremation will take place. His immediate family will have a private gathering to celebrate his life. Donations in Steve’s memory can be made to Kidney Foundation, New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
