Obituary of Stephen “Scrubby” Fanjoy
Stephen “Scrubby” Andrew Troy Fanjoy was born in Sus on June 30, 1983; he was the son of the late Garfield Urquhart and Trena Fanjoy.
Scrubby was a one-of-a-kind soul. He had a heart of gold and loved without question and without hesitation. He was filled with a fierce passion for life. It was said he had two hearts – He could love you like a lamb or love you like a lion.
He was a hardworking, force to be reckoned with. He worked as a mechanic at Quality Auto and loved every moment. His home away from home. If you were so blessed as to be part of his world, you never wanted or needed for anything. He was always in your corner and always on your doorstep with help in hand. Whether it was for mudding, fixing something or just to lend a helping hand – you could always count on him.
He loved to make people laugh, especially if it involved him being the butt of the joke. He an amazing sense of humor, a welcoming laugh, and a contagious smile. You could not help but be happy with Scrub around.
No mission to Martin Head was fully equipped without him and he was always up for an adventure. This world is a far more boring place without him, and he will be dearly missed.
He will live on in the hearts of his children: Jeffery, Nicholas and Issaac all of Saint John; the mother of his children: Vicky Norman of Saint John; his half sisters: Wanda Reynolds (Danny Davis) and Penny Milbury (Bruce); his chosen mom and dad: Bruce and Kelly McNeil of Berwick; his very close friends who were his chosen family; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
