Spero Leakos November 1 1927 March 6 2020 (age 92)

Obituary
Spero Leakos passed away peacefully on March 6, 2020 in Calgary, AB with his family at his side. A beloved father, grandfather, and cousin, who will be remembered by not only family but many others. He was well known for his influence in baseball and left a mark in the hearts of all those he was around. Our family and friends share memories of that positive and notoriously gregarious man that we have all held dear.
Spero’s legacy is survived by Georgia Leakos, his wife of 57 years; his children Steve (Gayle), Michael (Shelley) and Thomas (Carla); his grandchildren, Morgan, Cole, Sophia, Dominic, Olivia, Hali, Theo, Tori, Alexa; as well as a number of nieces and nephews. Spero was predeceased by his parents, Steve and Agatha (Kortes) Leakos; his sister Evangeline; and his brother James.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church (1 Tamarac Crescent SW) on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at 6:00pm. Funeral Service will be held at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church (1 Tamarac Crescent SW) on Monday, March 17, 2020 at 10:00am with The Rev. Peter Rougas, Presider. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Reception will then follow in St. Demetrios’ Church Hall.
