Obituary of Shirley Murena King
We the family sadly announced the passing at home of our mom Shirley Murena King, age 80 years of Bishop’s Falls, the last surviving member of her family. Born in Burlington Newfoundland on April 15, 1940, she was the daughter of the late William and Clara (Woolridge) Luscombe of Botwood.
She is predeceased by her husband Vernon and son Darrell, brothers Ralph, Peter, and Darrell, sister Karan and her infant grandchildren Vernon, Charlotte and Samantha and great granddaughter Hayden.
She will be dearly missed by her sons Roy (Sharon), Christopher (Kathy) her daughters Angela (Terry) King, Lana (Wayne) Rendell and daughter-in-law Kathie Dool-King. Also left to mourn sister-in-law Tilley Luscombe, Sarah Goebel, Inez (Jim) Bradbury and Maisie King, Brothers-in-law Freeman King, Clarence (Helen) King, Lorne (Joyce) King. 10 granddaughters, one grandson and 11 great grandchildren.
Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and special friend to all the knew her. She was an active member of the United Church of Bishops Falls. Shirley enjoyed her visits to family all across Canada and going to bingo with her friends, but when family got together at home a good game of knock was enjoyed by all and the laughs could be heard throughout the neighbourhood. Rest In Peace Mom, we love you, say hello to Dad for us. Until we meet again.
We the family would like to acknowledge with deep appreciation the many expressions of love, concern, and kindness shown to us during this difficult time. Special thanks to daughter-in-law Sharon for keeping Mom happy and comfortable for the past year.
Due to COVID-19 a private family viewing will take place with burial at the United Church Cemetery, Bond Street, Bishop’s Falls.
