Obituary of Shirley Muriel Mayo
Her work is finally done and she will live on in us always.
The Mayo family lost their Jewel, the heart and soul of their family on February 17, 2020 at US Memorial Hospital at the age of 77 years surrounded by her loving family, Shirley Mayo of Collin’s Cove lost her battle with dementia.
Shirley leaves her loving family, husband Eugene of 58 years; her son Tony (Charlotte) of Collin’s Cove; daughters Vivian Farewell (Wayne) of Creston South, Sherry Deveau (Darren) of Creston South, Joanne Mayo (Harvey) of Green Hill and Michelle Mayo (Harold) of Burin Bay; 9 grandchildren Calvin, Sharon (Dion), Justin (Cindy), Jordan (Rachel), Nicholas, Rianna (Jared), Emma, DJ and Olivia; 4 great grandchildren Tyson, Logan, Heidi, and Ivy; brother Louis Rowe; sister Ann Baine; brothers-in-law Gerald (Glynda), Eldon,Tom (Marg), Eric (Marie), Freeman and Bill (Vera); sisters-in-law Bernice Beazley, Irene Brewer, Shela Jorgensen (Levi), Mabel Simmons (Nick), Yvonne Foote (Alvin) and special cousin Junior Hollett (Gwenda); special friends Mike and Sylvia St. Croix of St. Mary’s plus a large circle of other family and friends.
Shirley is predeceased by her parents William Moulton and Florence Rowe, daughter Sharon and 2 infant babies and sister Nora.
Resting at Serenity Funeral Home, Burin ,Wednesday, February 19th from 10AM to 9PM.
The funeral service will take place on Thursday, February 20th at 11AM from Serenity Chapel. In keeping with Shirley’s wishes Cremation will follow service.
In Shirley’s memory, donations will be gratefully accepted for the animals at the SPCA, Burin or flowers gratefully accepted.
