Shirley Margaret MacKay
1938-2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the
passing of Shirley Margaret MacKay at the Palliative Care Unit of
O’Leary Community Hospital in O’Leary, PEI, on July 28, 2020, in her
82nd year. Beloved wife of the late James Leigh MacKay. Born in
Alberton, PEI, on November 6, 1938, she was the daughter of the late
John W. and Daisy E. (nee Perry) Inman.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children,
Douglas McNeill of Edmonton, AB, Sharon (Rob) McNeill-Bologa of
Bolton, ON, Brian McNeill of Brampton, ON, Alan McNeill of Alberton,
PEI, and John (Stephanie) MacKay of Albany, PEI. Cherished grandmother
to Jay, Sarah, Keesha, Daniel, Sean Ryan and Zachary.
Great-grandmother to Owen. Dear sister to Patricia (late Lawrence)
Gallant, Norma (late Roy) Adams, Brenda (late Gerry) Batherson, Mary
(late Vance) McNeill, Margaret Inman, Helen Inman, Ron
Inman, and Dwight Inman. Predeceased by her
brother, Harold Inman. Shirley will be sadly missed by all of her
children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters and brothers,
cousins, nieces, nephews and
friends.
Due to pandemic restrictions a private funeral
mass will be held at the Sacred
Heart Church in Alberton, PEI,on Tuesday August 4,2020 at 10;30 a.m.
Rev.Andrew MacDonald celebrant. followed by interment at the Sacred
Heart Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Sacred Heart
Church Cemetery in Shirley’s memory would be
appreciated.
