Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on Thursday February 6, Shirley LeGrow, aged 77 years. Predeceased by her husband Herbert, parents Ambrose and Flossie King, brothers Charlie King and Clayton King and sister Florrie Penney. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories sons Keith (wife Stacie) of Raleigh, North Carolina and Roger of Blackfalds, Alberta, loving grandson Jackson Herbert LeGrow, brother Gerald (wife Cynthia) of Bauline, brother-in-law Clayton Penney (Mary Hodder) of Marystown and sister-in-law Evelyn King of Pouch Cove, special niece Karen McCallum of St. John’s and longtime family friend Barbara Barclay of Mount Pearl, as well as a large circle of extended relatives and friends. At Shirley’s request, cremation has already taken place. Family and friends may pay their respects at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Wednesday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm and Thursday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral service to be held on Friday February 14 at 2 pm from Wesley United Church in St. John’s. In lieu of flowers, donations in Shirley’s memory may be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Newfoundland and Labrador or to the Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada.
