Obituary
Ethier, Sharlene Marie – Sunshine
September 16, 1973 – November 30, 2020
It is with great sadness that the family of Sharlene Marie-Sunshine announces her passing on November 30, 2020. She grew up on a farm outside of Colonsay where she attended school, graduating in 1991. She excelled in academics and athletics such as basketball, volleyball, and track and field. She then went on to the University of Saskatchewan earning two degrees allowing her to pursue her passion of becoming a teacher. While attending the U of S, Shar competed as a Huskie athlete on the Woman’s Basketball Team. Sharlene then went on to teach for 19 years in Aberdeen, SK. She taught Grade 3 and made many fond memories with students, staff, parents, and the Aberdeen community. She married Trevor in October 2008. Sharlene had many interests including volleyball, basketball, golf, and travelling with her family and friends. Sharlene was an amazing wife, daughter, step-mom, auntie, teacher, teammate, and friend with many incredible qualities. She was confident, intelligent, strong-willed, loving, and had a beautiful engaging smile that lit up any room. Sharlene loved to spend her time with family and friends as well as watching the kids play their different sports. She loved her many golf trips to Phoenix and Palm Springs, family vacations to Mexico and numerous “Have Fun Be Fun” Blue Jays trips with friends and family. She will be remembered by her husband Trevor, step-daughters Devyn and Reese, parents Reg and Bev, in-laws Rupert and Gail, siblings Kenneth, Jacqueline, sister-in-law Brandy (Chris), nieces Ayla, Mackenzie and Tristine, nephews Levi and Mason, and puppy Rosie. The family would like to thank everyone, especially the doctors and nurses who have helped and reached out. Rest easy my sunshine, you will be greatly missed and never forgotten. Due to COVID-19, there will be a celebration of life held and announced at a later date. Arrangements in care of Chelsea Krentz – Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200.
