Obituary of Selma Falk
Selma Aganetha (Megli) Falk went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 24, 2020. She was born on the farm south of Sunnyslope to Lewis and Ida (Ratzlaff) Megli on April 5, 1932, the seventh of ten children.
Selma attended Antler School in the Linden area for elementary and junior high, then went to Swalwell for grades 9 and 10. She married her sweetheart Dave Falk on October 21, 1951. They lived in the Sunnyslope and Linden areas all her life, except for a year in Trochu. Selma was a skilled homemaker. She was artistic and able to excel in nearly everything she did. Her motto was: “If it pays to do it; it pays to do it well!”
She is survived by Dave, her husband of 68 years, her children, Ruth (Eric) Poettcker, Edie (Al) Shantz, Don (Liz) Falk, Judy (Dave) Thiessen, and Vicki (Doug) Thurn, 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Also her brother Allen (Mary) Megli, and sisters Irene Colquhoun, Faye (Hugo) Engler, and Grace Megli.
She was predeceased by her parents, brother Sam and sisters, Jean, Alvena, Ruby and Edna, grandsons Kurt and James, and granddaughter Bailey.
There will be a private family interment at the Linden Cemetery with a Memorial service at a later date.
