Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sandra Royaline (MacEachern) Barrett on December 20, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was born in New Waterford, NS on June 6, 1941 to the late Donald and Christina (Royale) MacEachern.
Sandra worked for many years in the Dietary Department at the Saint John General Hospital and then the Saint John Regional Hospital before retirement. To know Sandra was to love Sandra. She was a tiny and fierce woman with an infectious laugh and a great sense of humor who loved to play Bingo, loved to travel, and liked to go for car rides. She was such a strong woman who survived so much in her lifetime but still managed to see the best in every situation. She was resilient and kind and so proud of her children and grandchildren. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Everyone will miss this funny woman who had such a strong presence in such a tiny frame.
She is survived by her children, Richard (Russ) Barrett and Belinda (Sean) Hall; grandchildren, Amy, Evan, Jennifer, Julianna, Michael, Gary and Kendra; 9 great grandchildren; brother, Donald “Sonny” (June) Wadden; sisters, Ursula (Stan) Chaisson, Winnie McVarish and Valerie (Brian) Cleary; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Joyce and by her partner, John “Jack” Gillen.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) where visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10-2pm with a funeral service to follow at 2pm from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel.
