Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Rudolph (Rudy) Zinn announce his passingon November 6, 2020 . Born in Empress, Alberta in 1954, he is the beloved husband of Kathy Miller-Zinn and son of the late Meta and Herman Zinn.
Rudy began his career as an accountant in banking and later in the oil and gas industry in Alberta with Esso and Pembina Resources. He eventually founded his own Joint Venture Audit Company serving mid-size oil and gas companies. When he and Kathy moved to New Brunswick in late 1997, they purchased the Tidal Watch Inn on the Bay of Fundy in St. Martins.For 23 years they enjoyed welcoming guests from around the world. When the Inn closed for the winter each year, Rudy and Kathy travelled the world spending time in Europe around the Mediterranean, the Middle East, Turkey, Fijji, the Cook Islands and many wonderful times with friends and family in California.A spectacular trip to Italy, Jordan and Spain earlier this year truly was the trip of a lifetime. Rudy also enjoyed hiking and backpacking in the Canadian Rockies,Europe, California and close to home in beautiful New Brunswick along the Fundy Trail and other special places around the Bay of Fundy.
Rudy is survived by his loving wife, Kathy and his dear lifelong friends Keith & Barb Gheseger as well as beloved cousins and their spouses Jeannie, Jim, Dennis, Maryanne, Ruth, Bill Barb, Rod Bernie, Nancy, Paul, Ellen, Eric. Rudy was also deeply loved and will be mourned and missed by Kathy’s brothers and sisters and spouses, Marilyn, David, Rebekah, Kevin, John, Stan and Deanna, Brian. He was predeceased by beloved sister-in-law Phyllis. Rudy was a caregiver, someone who mentored, supported family and friends, giving freely of his time and resources to so many.His deep, abiding faith in God was always at the centre of his life.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitation being held on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The memorial service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, November 14th at 2 p.m.
Our heartfelt thanks to the dear family and friends who helped take care of Rudy and Kathy during this difficult time. A special thank-you to the staff of the Extra Mural Program team for the wonderful care during Rudy’s illness.
Donations to the Fundy Trail and the Quaco Museum (Quaco Historical & Library Society) of St. Martins in Rudy’s memory would be appreciated.
