Obituary of Roy Herbert Bishop
It is with immense sorrow and sadness that we, as a family, announce the passing of Herbert Roy Bishop on December 26th, 2020, one week before his 69th birthday. Known to everyone as Roy, he has been an inspiration to us during his seven year battle fighting cancer. His humility and gentleness is only superseded by his positive attitude and determined outlook on life, defying all the odds of survival. He outlived the time limits placed on his life and was so appreciative of each day that he was alive, despite the pain and suffering that he experienced. It has been said that the measure of a man is not how much he suffers in the test, but how he comes out at the end. If that’s the case, Roy would be categorized as a giant of a man for endurance and coming out a winner. If you were one of Roy’s friends, you knew there were three interets that he absolutely loved. First, his passion for playing darts with his legion buddies, next was his Beatles music and then it was his loyality to the Toronto Maple Leafs. You can’t blame a guy for cheering all those years!
Roy leaves a lifetime of wonderful memories and will be forever loved and remebered by his loving wife of 42 years, Mariyln, his sons Jeffery (Christina) and Jeremy (Janice) and his precios granddaughter, Abigail (Poppys Dolly), his mother Ruby, sisters Ruth (Dennis, deceased), Wanda, and Patricia (Alec), brothers Ralph, Calvin (Laurie), and Russ (Jie).
He is predeceased by his father, Roy Sr., baby sister Iris, and parents-in-law.
At Roy’s request, cremation has taken place and there will not be and visitation of funeral service.
Sincere thanks are extended to Dr. House and Dr. Clancey, Nurses Ruth and Cathy and the paramedics at CNRHC. Thank you for your dedication and compassion. Also heartfelt thanks to the staff at Cohens Home Furnishings and the Royal Canadian Legion staff and volunteers for their kindness and generosity.
Donations in Roy’s memory can be made to the Lionel Kelland Hospice Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor.

There will be an answer, let it be
For though they may be parted, there is still a chance that they will see
There will be an answer, let it be”
