Sympathies message

  1. Marg, Jayne, Christine, Sandra, John, spouses Grand and Great-children. Jim and I are saddened to hear of the recent passing of Roy. A true gentleman, a man with a good sense of humour and a amazing neighbour to our parents Bob and Marg Scarborough. I also have only heard “one of the best,” “Husband and Grandpas.” Our family has truly been honoured and blessed to have had you and your family’s friendship in our lives for so many years. A couple of my fondest moments was Roy bringing his grandchildren over to Mom and Dad’s house so the kids could have some fun in the pool and practise their swimming skills. I also was brought to tears as I attended his concert at Oakridge Presbyterian Church where the music students from Medway Secondary School were paired up with seniors who had some form of dementia. Watching the interactions between a teen and a senior was “Breathtaking.” Often body language skills was their best communication. The sounds that came from their voices In that choir will ring in my ears and stay in my heart forever. The smiles that beamed across the stage on their faces after a performance and the crowd stood with applause said it all. Kudos to McCormick Home day program for giving Roy so many enjoyable hours of pleasure. Marg, you have been such a strong, loving and amazing wife. The care you provided was done without any need for recognition and from your heart and love of Roy. I salute you my friend. Roy you have gained your wings and are holding your granddaughter in your arms once again. Free from any worries or discomforts. May you forever Rest In Peace. A life well lived my friend. Love friends Lynda and Jim (say hello to Mom and Dad please).
