Rose Marginet
March 14, 1940 – March 28, 2020

It is with extreme deep sorrow that the families of (Leila) Rose Marginet announce the passing of their
mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on March 28 th , 2020 at the Dryden Regional Health Centre with her daughters at her side.
Rose (nee Robinson) was born in Dryden on March 14 th , 1940 where she remained throughout her life.
She was predeceased in 1998 by her devoted husband of 39 years, Aime Marginet. Rose later found
love again with partner, Cliff Robertson, until his passing in 2014.
Rose is survived by her daughters, Lori LaForrest (Ken) of Dryden and Gaylyn Holmstrom (Brent) of
Kenora. She was the absolute proudest grandmother of Hilary Pritchard (Steven), Jayme Chute
(Michael), Kylie Holmstrom and Kiersten Holmstrom and great-granddaughters, Jaedyn Chute and Haylie
Chute. She is also survived by her only brother, Edward Robinson (Marg) of Prince George, B.C. and
many nieces and nephews. Rose was predeceased by her parents, Robert (Bob) and Leila Robinson,
sisters Mable Kanutski (Peter) and Betty Carter (Willard) and niece Holly Kanutski-Ledoux.
Rose was an active community member during her life and held positions such as Commissioner of the
Girl Guides of Canada and Senior Regent of the Dryden Chapter of the Women of the Moose. Rose was
extremely talented when it came to hobbies and crafts. She loved sewing, knitting, crocheting, needle
point, quilting and recently Swedish embroidery became a passion. She was often teased about her
“moat” around her arm chair as she was usually surrounded with many projects on the go at one time.
She loved to make people happy and sharing her beautiful creations brought her so much joy.
Rose loved her granddaughters beyond words and was quick to brag about their many talents. She was
also a “shameless” super-fan, not caring if she was the loudest in the building. She watched them play
volleyball, baseball, basketball, soccer….you name it, she was there to cheer them on. Most recently,
she enjoyed being able to watch her two great-granddaughters at swimming lessons.
There are not enough words to describe how much she was loved and how sadly she will be missed.
Rose had celebrated her 80 th birthday with family and many friends just two weeks before. May she be
remembered as she was that day, happy, smiling, beautiful, surrounded by friendship and love.
In accordance to her wishes, immediate cremation is to take place. A service and interment is to follow
at a later date.
