Ronnie (Ronald) Peter Jonasson
Born: November 17, 1937 Died: October 21, 2020
Ronnie was born to Swea and Peter Jonasson on November 17, 1937, in British Columbia. He was the youngest of three children. Older sister Dorothy and older brother Lawrence. Later he would have a younger half- brother, Keith Larson.
Ronnie lived most of his adult life in High Level Alberta where he drove truck for a living and later purchased a farm which he spent many years dabbling in various things, livestock, chickens, pigs, and grain farming. He moved back to Saskatchewan in 2010 to be closer to his family. In 2013 he built his current cozy, comfortable home in Canwood which he was so proud of.
Ronnie like to fish and made many fish trips with his boat, bringing home lots of fresh fish. In his younger years, he was an avid to hunt. He liked to travel to places he worked at when he was young to see how they changed. A few years ago, he headed to Buffalo Narrows. He still wanted to travel to the northern most point you can get to on existing roads in Canada which is Dalton in Inuvik. He always loved the north. Unfortunately, his health began to slide so he never did make that trip.
Ronnie was a joker and loved a good laugh. He would tell us things from his youth about his friends and the things they did. He would be laughing so hard he couldn’t speak and tears running down his face. He was reliving it all again! Last year, the three of them, Ronnie, Lawrence, and Dorothy reconnected with an old friend and drove to visit him in Rosetown. They had a great time catching up, reminiscing the good ole days. The three of them did many things, went to many places, and had many laughs together the last few years.
Ronnie was predeceased by his wife Faye Jonasson, his Mother Swea Larson, his Father Peter Jonasson, his stepfather Eric Larson, his brother Lawrence Jonasson, his Brother-law Oscar Eliason. He is survived by his sister Dorothy Eliason, his Sister-in-Law Elsa Jonasson, his Half- Brother Keith Larson (Linda), his close Cousin Thelma Bazley (Francis), and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
There will be no funeral at Ronnie’s request. A family gathering will be planned in 2021 to lay his ashes to rest.
