It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. Ronald Allan ‘Ron’ Johnston, after a courageous battle with heart disease, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Friday, December 18, 2020 at the age of 60 years. Ron was born on September 27, 1960 in Virden, Manitoba, to James and Margaret Johnston. He was raised in Pincher Creek, Alberta and then moved to a farm in the Rural Clive area. Ron spent many years working with Hopkins Construction; where he built everlasting relationships and a career as Supervisor. He retired in 2014. Ron had many hobbies; which included reading, gardening and going for long drives, but most of all being a “Grandpa” to his grandchildren. Ron took pride in his farm and he was able to fix everything. He loved the laughter of all the kids on the farm and knew he had the warmth of his family. We will miss all of his good advice, his quick wit and sense of humor but most of all his company, and the home he created for us. His door was always open. Ron lives on through his legacy and gentle, kind heart. Ron will be lovingly remembered by his spouse of thirty-one years, Cheryl Blatz; son, Matthew; daughter, Patricia (Fraser) and their two children, Madison and Axel; daughter, Jenna (James) and their four children, Baylee, Meryssa, Alexa and Taylor. Ron will also be sadly missed by his brothers, Bob (Adrienne) and Kevin (Sandra); his fur babies that he adored and they adored him back, Hazy and Hunter; as well as many other family members and dear friends. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta.
