Welsh, Robert Alexander
(April. 23rd 1951 – December 26, 2020)
Loving husband to his high-school sweet heart, Jo-Anne Welsh (nee Ashton). Loving father, best friend and hero to Amy (Mike), Matt (Laura) and Adam (Lisa). Adoring Papa to Clara, William, Ethan, Ashton, Cameron, Isla, Olivia, Tessa and Veronica. Son of the late William and Irene Welsh (nee Sanderson). Dear Brother to Bill (Jan) Welsh, Ross (Jane) Welsh and predeceased by his brother Jim (Marilyn) Welsh and his sister Sandra (Bob) Mead. Brother in-law to Saundra (Wray) Rodgers and Gary (Christine) Ashton. Cherished Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Admired friend of too many to mention. We are struggling with the loss of our guiding light; it’s impossible to put into words what Rob meant to us and the void his passing has created. Above all else, Rob enjoyed spending time with his family, teaching valuable lessons and being involved in the community. Rob was always looking to improve the lives of others as evidenced by his long lasting participation in the Big Brother Program, Bison’s Alumni and the Arnold Anderson Sport Fund. Rob had positive impacts on many lives through his coaching of Hockey and Football. Rob was a fixture in Brantford Football Officiating. Rob will be sorely missed, but we are incredibly lucky to have so many great stories and memories. We will honour him by living our lives with the lessons we learned from him, compassion, toughness and loyalty, and continue to support each other. A private family service will be held at the McCleister Funeral Home, 495 Park Road North, Brantford on Wednesday, December 30, 2020. (Due to the covid pandemic, masks and social distancing is required for those in attendance.) Cremation will follow.
