Robert was born January 15, 1930 in St. Brieux, SK to Pierré and Louise (nee Renier) Boissiere. He grew up and attended school in the Miora Lake District. He worked for various farmers in the district. In the spring of 1951, Robert went to Alberta to work on a sugar beet farm and a cattle ranch. In the spring of 1952, he returned to St. Brieux to start farming; that spring he met Margaret Kun from Yellow Creek, SK. They were married October 27, 1952. In 1959, the love of their life, Linda was born. In 1960, Robert moved the family to Dunblane, SK so he could work on the Gardner Dam Project. There he did concrete and carpentry work. He also ran a “mole”, the underground tunnel boring machine. They also continued to operate the farm on weekends and when the dam was complete the family moved back to St. Brieux to continue farming. While farming, Robert worked for a rural telephone company building telephone lines. Later on they did carpentry work renovations and building homes.
Robert played ball when he was younger. He was an avid curler, hunter and fisherman. He spent a lot of time with his two grandsons: Kevin and Darren. In the fall of 2018, Robert moved into the Chateau Providence.
Robert is lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife of 67 years Margaret, nee Kun, of Yellow Creek, SK; daughter Linda (Terry) Wojcichowsky of St. Brieux, SK and their sons: Kevin (Genaya) Wojcichowsky and their sons: Dixon and Parker; and Darren Wojcichowsky (Tara Knoblauch) and their son Leo and numerous other family members.
