Robert Gerald Hawker
June 13, 1957 – November 18, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Dad, Robert Gerald Hawker on Wednesday, November 18th, 2020. He will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Mary (nee Muir) Hawker and his four children, Crystal Hawker, Lance Hawker (Lanah), Amber Kuffner (Cameron), and Mallory Hawker. Dad is also lovingly remembered by his six grandchildren, Dominic, Paige, Kaycee, Ainsley, Samuel, and Tessa; his six siblings, Lonnie Hawker (Lorinda), Debbie Junker (Leroy), Marie Wright, Colleen Lovell (Peter), Marilee Hawker (Mitch), and Gaylene Bernat (Lawrence) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dad was predeceased by his father, Bob Hawker.
Affectionately known as Hobby, he spent many years working in the oil industry both in Canada and abroad. He was an avid Rider fan and thoroughly enjoyed going to Rider games with his family. In his younger years, Hobby spent a lot of time playing hockey, boating, skiing, snowmobiling and even farming strawberries. Dad loved his children, but his grandchildren were the twinkle of his eye. He often spoke of them and each time he saw them his love and pride for them was undeniable.
Due to Covid-19 there will not be a funeral at this time but we hope to celebrate his life in the spring of 2021. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the following organizations in his name. The Oxbow Volunteer Fire Department, Box 895, Oxbow, SK. S0C 2B0 or to Prairie Sky Recovery Centre, Box 535, Wilkie, SK. S0K 4W0.
If I Should Go
By Joyce Grenfell
If I should go before the rest of you
Break not a flower nor inscribe a stone
Nor when I’m gone speak in a Sunday voice
But be the usual selves that I have known
Weep if you must
Parting is hell
But life goes on
So sing as well.
