Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Robert Douglas Taylor, husband of over 55 years to Winnifred “Win” (Foreman) Taylor, announces his passing which occurred peacefully at home on October 13, 2020. Born in Saint John, NB on May 6, 1942 he was the son of the late John and Dorothy (Peer) Taylor.
In 1961 he began his career with Air Canada, starting in Halifax, Toronto and finally in Saint John retiring in 1998. Robert was involved with many organizations including the AC Pionairs as the NB Director for 12 years; The Renforth Boat Club, where he enjoyed years of boating on the Kennebecasis and Saint John River Systems. He dabbled in politics being a Councillor and Deputy Mayor of Gondola Point.
He had a passion for travelling, over the years he and his family travelled to Barbados, England, Germany and Hawaii. Robert enjoyed many summers at the Cottage in Point Du Chene with family and friends.
Robert was committed to everything he undertook. He was the life of the party and a great storyteller.
Along with his loving wife Win, he is survived by his son Brian (Carol) Taylor, his daughters; Anne (Gerry) Verner, Linda (Michael) Campbell, his grandchildren; Amanda and Lauren Verner and Nicholas and Evan Campbell as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Robert is predeceased by his sister Joan Little and his brother-in-law Walter Little.
The family wish to express their thanks and gratitude to Dr. Alexandra Ross for the care and compassion shown towards Robert throughout the years.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). A private family funeral service will be held. Interment will take place at the Stanley Catholic Cemetery.
Donations in Robert’s memory may be made towards the Canadian Cancer Society, The Huntington’s Society of Canada or to the charity of the donors choice.
