Obituary of Richard William Wilson
With his family by his side, the death of Richard William “Dick” Wilson of Gondola Point, husband of Bernice (Dickson) Wilson, occurred on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Born in Saint John on August 2, 1946, he was a son of Bernard and Ethel (Betts). Dick was a gifted mechanic by trade and later branched into long haul trucking as a driver for many years. Some of his affiliations were with D&J Trucking, Joseph A Likely, Desourdy Paving, RE&JE Friars, Bayview International, RST, Jardine’s and Marr’s Trucking. He enjoyed his last ten years driving for CRVL. Having always resided on the Gondola Point Road, he was well known about the community. He enjoyed genealogy, bird watching, and spending time with his family.
Besides his wife, Dick is survived by his children: Rick (Lee-Ann) of Mississauga, Ontario, Brad (Susan), and Andy (Tricia) both of Quispamsis, and Becky Nadeau (Paul) of Houlton, Maine; grandchildren: Kelsey, and Jessica Bishop; Olivia, Silas, Micah, and Addison Nadeau; Sophie, Bailey, Reilly, Jack, and Cohen Wilson; sisters: Grace James (George) and Audrey Ellen Kimball (Wilfred) both of Calgary, Alberta; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Dick was predeceased by his brothers; Fred and David, and sister Barbara Thompson.
Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (506-849-2119) with visiting on Monday, August 31, 2020, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Staff will be available at the main entrance of the funeral home to greet and assist you with Covid-19 protocol. A Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September, 1, 2020, at 11:00 AM, at Rothesay Baptist Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
