Raymond’s Obituary
With deeply saddened hearts, we advise the passing of Raymond Kenneth Keddy on 17 February 2020. He died peacefully at home with family at his side after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born 10 May 1952 and raised in North Kingston, Ray spent the majority of his life in the forest industry working side by side with his Dad in the woods of the North Mountain. He continued to enjoy his work until his health no longer enabled him to continue. He always looked forward to the yearly hunts in these woods; loved darts and the friendly competition of crib games; BBQs and socializing with family and friends. Visits from the grandkids were a special joy to Ray as memorable times were spent on the shore and in the woods. Ray was predeceased by his parents Malcolm “Mac” and Alice (Downie) Keddy; wife, Diane Stronach and brother, Michael. He is survived by stepdaughter, Kim Beals (Sam Balcom); grandchildren, Shelby, Jeremy and Shyloe Beals; brothers, Ted of Bedford; Russell of Barrie ON; Jack (Karen); and Murray (Lorraine); sisters, Norma (Dave Hall) and Kay (Shirl Sanford), all of North Kingston; sister-in-law, Debby of Edmonton AB; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Ray will be missed by his entire family and many friends and, of course, his four-legged sidekick, Bonnie. We would like to make special mention of his very close personal friend, Alice Hatch, who gave her unlimited attention and expert care to Raymond during his illness. Without her, Raymond would not have been able to remain in his home as he wished. We will be eternally thankful for your unwavering devotion throughout the past year. In keeping with Raymond’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no service by request. The family will gather privately for a graveside service at a later date. Donations in Ray’s memory may be made to a charity of choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., toll free 1-855-825-3448.
