Homer R.’s Obituary
Homer Dickson, a life-long resident of Grimshaw, passed away at home on Sunday, February 23 at the age of 88 years. He was surrounded by his family as he succumbed to a brief illness. A life-long farmer, he bought his first quarter section at the age of 17. Homer worked at a variety of jobs until he could make cattle and grain farming his full time occupation. In 2001, he retired from farming. Part of running a farm meant being good at welding, woodworking and fixing up the machinery. After retiring, you could find him putting in a garden, and helping his wife Eleanor with the flowers, and spending time with his family. He especially loved to go camping and fishing.
Homer is predeceased by his sister Valerie. He is survived by his wife Eleanor, sons Dave (Tweety), Rob (Carrie) and daughter Cathe (Gary) as well as 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Funeral services for the late Homer Dickson will be held on Friday, February 28 at 2pm at the Legion Hall in Grimshaw. There will be a private interment with a lunch to follow. Donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
