Philip Joseph “Judge” MacInnis
1951-2020
MacInnis, Philip Joseph
“JUDGE”, 69, of the Town of Antigonish passed
away peacefully at the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Dickson Building
surrounded by his family on April 9, 2020.
Born in Antigonish, he was
a son of the late Colin Francis and Alice (Elliot) MacInnis. As a
teenager, Philip was given the nick name “The Judge” by one
of his older brothers, after the local Judge in town, Judge Philips.
Judge worked for many years as a muffler mechanic in Antigonish and
was also known as a pool shark at the local pool halls. He spent many
hours socializing with his many friends and was all too eager to help
out a friend in need. Often, if you dropped in on Philip you could
find him watching a favorite old Clint Eastwood Western movie. The Judge was also very proud
of his four sons and would always make sure to tell everyone
“this is my Son” every chance he could. Later on in life he
enjoyed cruising around town in his truck with his beloved dog Oscar
and spending time with his friends! The Judge lived his life his way,
fearless and to the fullest.
He is survived by his sons
Kenny, Antigonish; Robert (Angela), Halifax; Barry (Jenna),
Antigonish; Matthew (Maia), Grand Prairie; grandchildren Dillon,
Justin, Kaitlin, Laura, Alison and Amelia; great granddaughter Alanna;
his siblings: Betty (Gerry) Camillo, South Carolina; Bill (Allie)
Kingston, Ont; Mary Hurst, Antigonish; Mable (Clarence) Sutherland,
Stellarton; Barry (Lynn), Brooks, Alt; Evey (Neil) Fowler, Strathmore,
Alt; Larry, Antigonish;
He is predeceased by his sisters, June
Gaipo and Ethel Tobin; brothers Buddy and Jackie; and brothers-in-law
Donald Hurst and Gene Gaipo.
A celebration of life will take place
at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to the
