Peter R. B.SC., M.D. F.R.C.S.(C) Boucher
Dr. Peter Boucher, 82, of Edmonton, passed away on May 23, 2020 in Edmonton, AB.
Peter was born in St. Hyacinthe, Quebec to Richard and Merle Boucher on March 9, 1938. Following high school he went on to pursue a medical degree attending: St. Francis Xavier University and Ottawa Medical School. He obtained his medical license after completing an externship in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, internship in Ottawa, Ontario and residency in Edmonton. After marrying the love of his life, Avril, he eventually settled into a position as an Orthopedic Surgeon at the University of Alberta Hospital where he practiced from 1970-1998. It was because of his career that he travelled the world, both to learn and to teach; Peter was inducted into many medical orders around the world. Locally, Peter also had the opportunity to work along side his favorite football club the Edmonton Eskimos as team doctor for numerous Grey Cup wins. Peter is survived by his loving wife, Avril; children, Laura, Scott, Julie, Jeff and David; grandchildren, Austin Carmichael and Sarah Carmichael, Katelynn Boucher, Catherine Wratten and Jennifer Wratten; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.He is predeceased by his parents, Richard and Merle and sister, Sharon
No service will be held at this time. Those wishing to make donations in memory of Peter may do so to the charity of their choice.
