DESILETS, Pauline Patricia (née Calnen)
Pauline died peacefully at Nipissing Manor, Corbiel, in her 97th year, on Saturday, November 14, 2020 with family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Joseph Arthur (Art) Desilets (1922-2006). Cherished mother of June Howard (late Robert), Linda Ringler (Ron), Suzanne McGuinty, Michael Desilets, Lori Costante (Rudy) and David (Doris) Desilets. She will be lovingly remembered by 12 grandchildren: James Howard (Vilma), Jeremy Howard (Monique), Jessica Sheppard (Daryl), James Ringler (Carrie), Peter Ringler (Marie-Claude), Michael McGuinty (Bobbi-Lynne), Mike Desilets Jr. (Kate), Dana Desilets (Brent), Lisa Desilets, Amy Desilets, Jacob Costante and Cody Costante; and 17 great-grandchildren: Kevin, Arajune, Skyler Howard, Nadya, Quin, Anna, Katery, Alayna, Faustina and Isaac Sheppard, Chloe, Gabrielle, Megan and Nathan Ringler, Courtney and Kaila McGuinty, Reese Desilets and Jaxon Rider Costante. Pauline was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Florence (née Barron) Calnen; her dear sisters and their spouses: Mary Menard (Fred), Evelyn Sullivan (Robert), Annie Blackburn (Robert) and by her sister Florence Calnen; by her brothers: Joseph and James Calnen; and by several half siblings.Pauline was a devoted wife and mother and was happiest when surrounded by her family or helping her children. She was a 50-year member of the Catholic Women’s League and took great pleasure in church activities. Upon retirement, she enjoyed gardening, aqua-fit, dancing and playing cards. Pauline’s mantra was “If you can’t say anything good about someone, don’t say anything at all”! The Desilets family would like to thank the excellent staff of Nipissing Manor and special friends Patricia Martin and Victor Tomlinson for their loving comfort and care of Mom. The Desilets family will receive visitors on Thursday, November 19, 2020 from 10:30 to 11:00 am at St. Joseph’s Church, Powassan, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. COVID-19 restrictions are in effect. Masks are required and two metres physical distancing must be maintained. The total number of people allowed in the church is 115 people. Cremation will follow.
