Obituary for Pamela Elaine Chabot
Heaven has gained a beautiful Soul.
Pamela Elaine Chabot (Gable), 64 years old of Grande Prairie, Alberta passed away October 10, 2020 after a short and courageous battle with an aggressive lung cancer.
Born on September 28, 1956, the first child of Roland and Jenifer Gable, she was raised with her 3 siblings on the family farm in the Rycroft area. Pam graduated from Spirit River Secondary School in 1974. She moved to Grande Prairie and worked as a care aide with the mentally handicapped. In 1977 she began her 35-year career with Canada Post.
Pam is survived by her loving son Jeffrey Chabot, sisters Nancy Delong (William) and Karen Comeau (Martin), brother Ronald Gable (Christine), nieces and nephews Michael Delong, David Delong, Jessica Delong, Amanda Sopko, Benjamin Gable and many good and faithful friends and extended family members.
She was predeceased by her parents Roland and Jenifer Gable, nephew Jonathan Gable, maternal grandparents Rose Sederstrom, Otto Nikolaus, paternal grandparents Valentine and Emilie Goebel along with several Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
A lifetime member of Faith Lutheran Church of Grande Prairie, Pam was active in helping with Sunday School, Summer Vacation Bible School, monthly birthday cake celebrations for seniors at Pioneer Lodge and serving where needed at special events and occasions at the church. She had a kind, loving heart and a strong unwavering faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Pam also loved to chat and laugh. She had an inquisitive nature and was not afraid to speak her mind. The “Purple Feather” get togethers were always looked forward to.
Her door was always open and the coffee hot for those that needed a place to stay or just to sit and chat. Pamela’s greatest pride and joy came from time spent with her son Jeff. Be it cheering at his sporting events, golfing, fishing, camping, or travelling together, these were the times she looked forward to and cherished.
Psalm 73:26
“My flesh and my heart fail; but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”
A Celebration of Pam’s Life will be held for invited guests on Saturday October 17th, 2020 at 1:00pm at Faith Lutheran Church (9610 108 Avenue in Grande Prairie, Alberta).
Memorial donations may be made in Pam’s memory to the Faith Lutheran Church Vacation Bible School at 9610 108 Avenue in Grande Prairie, Alberta T8V 1N3
