Orest Hataley
1935 – 2019
With sorrow and sadness in my heart, I want to announce the passing of my beloved brother, Orest at the Swan Valley Health Centre, Swan River, Manitoba on December 22, 2019, after a rapid serious decline in his health.
Orest was born to his dad and mother, Mike Hataley and Emily (nee Makohoniuk) on the farm in the Arran-Vesna region of Saskatchewan. Orest helped his parents on the homestead and worked for a while at machinery dealership in neighbouring Benito, Manitoba. After Dad’s passing in 1990, he continued on the farm as caregiver to our mother until her passing in August of 2003. He is also predeceased by and older brother, John of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan in December 2003.
Orest and his younger brother, Lawrence, moved to Swan River in October 2013. Orest will be sadly missed by Lawrence; our cousins; nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held from the Chapel of Swan Valley Funeral Services, Swan River, on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Interment followed in the Riverview Cemetery, Kamsack, Saskatchewan.
