Shaw, Norman Earl
Norman Shaw, a resident of Chatham, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 2nd, 2020 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.
Born January 16, 1937, he was the son of the late Norman & Evelyn (nee Crowder) Shaw.
Dear father of Lisa Sura (Rob) and Eric Shaw (Kaori).
Remembered always by his grandchildren, Brandon Sura, Ryan Sura (Erin Flynn), Alexander Shaw & Nanami Shaw.
Brother of Robert Shaw (Heather) and the late Barbara Billman.
Survived by brother-in-law, Arlo Billman.
He is reunited with his girlfriend, the late Jackie Ray (2016) and former girlfriend for many years, the late Rena Martini (1998).
Norman will be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family, business associates and friends.
Norman was a prominent business man on King Street for many years. He was the proud owner of Riviera Menswear and owned a number of properties on King Street. Norman was a great lover of classic cars from the 60’s and 70’s, and owned a number of these throughout his life. Norman was a former member of the St. John’s Number 9 Masonic Lodge and involved in the Chatham BIA. He was very proud of his business achievements, and took care of customers from far and wide. He enjoyed the finer things in life, did what he set out to do with his life and was very successful. For the most part, he enjoyed his life and accomplishments.
Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Sunday, December 6, 2020 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm & 7:00 – 9:00 pm. A Funeral Service is to take place on Monday, December 7, 2020 at 11:00 am at the Funeral Home. The Bereavement Authority of Ontario have mandated that all attendees wear a mask.
