It is with a sad heart that we announce the passing of Norma Jean Goff, at the Vernon Hospice House on October 9, 2020. She was with family and passed peacefully after a valiant battle with cancer. Only two of us could be with her at any one time, due to covid, so her youngest daughter, Susan, and her grandson, Herb, were with her at the end. All of her family who could be here were able to see her or speak to her on the phone before she passed.
Norma was born in Adrian, Michigan, in June 1930. She married her husband, Don, on November 1, 1948 and lived an adventurous life, as her husband enjoyed a number of different career paths. Her greatest joy was her family, and is remembered as a loving parent and grandparent. In her life she sewed and mended clothes, cleaned and cooked for a family of 7 plus whatever company happened to drop in. She was once a member of the Camano Island Grange, the Upper Hat Creek Women’s Institute and sold Tupperware for a while. She joined the Order of the Eastern Star in September 1974 at the Cornwall Chapter in Ashcroft, BC. She attended church at the Zion United in Ashcroft and the Zion United in Armstrong.
She is predeceased by her husband, Don Goff, her youngest daughter, Barbara Gauvin and her brothers Tom and Fred. She is survived by children Terri Nicholson, Vicki Goff, Susan Milne (Don), and David Goff (Brandi-Jo) and sister Eileen Petersen. She also leaves behind 2 grandsons, 2 granddaughters and 2 great granddaughters as well as nieces and nephews.
There will be no celebration of life. Most of the family were together for Thanksgiving weekend and had a private gathering.
In lieu of flowers you are invited to make donations to either the BC Cancer Foundation, North Okanagan Hospice Society or the BC Order of the Eastern Star.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Norma Jean Goff October 9th 2020..
