Nina Marie Schmeisser
November 27, 1963 – January 21, 2020
Schmeisser, Nina Marie – passed away at the age of 56, on January 21, 2020. The daughter of John and Irene (Savoie) Schmeisser, Halifax NS, Nina was born in Halifax before moving with her family to Saint Maurice, NB during her younger years. The family returned to Halifax when she was 13, where she attended Oxford School, followed by St. Pat’s High School. Nina spent most of those days with best friend of 44 years, Lisa Lovett-Richards, who spent so much time at the Schmeisser house, she was like another sister to Nina.
Nina worked at Saint Vincent’s Nursing Home for many years before moving to Douglas Harbour, NB where she resided until her death. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thank you to her neighbours in Douglas Harbour who befriended and looked after Nina in her final years.
She is survived by her parents John and Irene (Savoie); brother John (Kathleen); sisters Carol (Derrick), Colleen (Ron), Claudette (Kevin), June (Eric) and Rhonda (Dave); nephews Matthew (Sarah), Jonathan (Alexis), Johnny (Nicole), and Jacob; nieces Vanessa (Thomas), Amanda (Brandon) and Olivia; great-nieces Skyla, Kassie and Jersi-Leigh; and godmother aunt Cecila Longaphy.
Beautiful, kind, beloved Nina, we will miss you for the rest of our lives.
At the request of her family, she will be cremated and a celebration of life and burial will take place in the spring of 2020. Online condolences can be made to www.rawalker.ca
