Nancy Ann Berthiaume 1944 2020

Obituary for
Nancy Ann Berthiaume (Wright)
It is with great sadness that the family announces her passing in Chelmsford on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at the age of 75 years. Beloved wife of Richard Berthiaume. Daughter of the late John and the late Lillian (née Conley) Wright. Beloved mother of Paul (Heather), Michelle (Gord) and Lee (Melissa). Dear sister of Dr. Janet Wright of Belleville, Ontario. Cherished grandmother of Paige, Reese, Aubrey, Harper and special girl Taylor McCormick. Sadly missed by many nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Nancy was raised in Bloomfield on the Isle of Quinte near Belleville. She attended Prince Edward Collegiate in Picton and later obtained a degree in Psychology at the University of Guelph. She then entered Teachers College in Toronto and later attended the Ontario Institute for studies in Education. Nancy became a guidance counsellor and taught Commercial studies at Iroquois Falls Secondary School where she met and married Richard in 1969. They moved to Chelmsford in 1972 and started a family. Nancy was a quiet person who enjoyed painting, reading, cooking, her dogs and traveling to Naples, Florida with her husband in the winter. Her family was always the most important part of her life. Ten years ago, she became a victim of Alzheimer’s disease and was a resident at St. Gabriel Villa since that time. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the St. Gabriel Villa for their kind and compassionate care for Nancy during her stay. As per Nancy’s request there will be no visitation or service. Arrangements entrusted to the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, Chelmsford. Donations can be made by cheque or online to the Alzheimer Society or to the Sudbury Food Bank. www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca
