Obituary of Murray Fair
Fair Murray Edwin
Passed away peacefully, at Fox Ridge Nursing Home on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at the age of 91. Dear brother of Lorne (Alberta), Bruce (Alva), the late Russell (Pearl), Irene Smith (and the late Elmer), Lloyd (Dorothy), Neil (Eleanor), Helen Lee (and the late Jim), Elva Hicks (Malcolm) and the late Elwood. Predeceased by his parents, Herbert and Hazel (Vansickle). Beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews as well as grand nieces and nephews. Murray, was proudly, a career police officer with the Ontario Provincial Police from 1955-1987, and a Life member of the Ontario Provincial Police Association. He was also an ardent member of the OPP Veterans Association serving as Secretary-Treasurer for many years with Chapter #3 Simcoe-Brantford. He was a 60 year member of Lynden Lodge # 505, A.F.& A.M. and a member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of Barrie. Murray was a volunteer driver for the Brant County Unit of the Canadian Cancer Society from 1990-1997. A private graveside service will be held at Stenabaugh Cemetery 3377, Indian Trail, Brantford. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Alzheimer’s Society or the charity of one’s choice.
