Obituary of Murray Alden Pond
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Murray Alden Pond of Fredericton, NB, husband of the late Alice Grace (MacKay) Pond, occurred on November 26, 2020 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton. Born on December 11, 1931 in Taymouth, NB, he was the son of the late Everard and Phyllis (Stewart) Pond. Murray was a mechanic at the Fredericton Airport and saw many nights plowing snowy runways.
Murray is survived by his daughters, Phyllis Hill (Thomas) of Georgia, Wendy Dean (Murray) of Ohio, Tina MacGougan (Michael) of Moncton, Heather Durelle of Fredericton; sister, Emily Hunter (Merle), brothers, Fred Pond (Pat), Wendell Pond (Edith), Robert Pond (Ann), Dean Pond (Joyce), Clifton Pond (Betty Lou), Lloyd Pond (Alice), Donald Pond (Kay), Ronald Pond (Debbie); his Grand Children and Great Grand Children and furry companions Sassy Cat, Cooper and Abby; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife and parents, Murray was predeceased by his sister, Shirley Logan; brothers, Ivan Pond, Ernest Pond, Everard Pond.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of York Funeral Home’s Miramichi Valley Chapel. Following Murray’s wishes, there will be no public services. The family will hold a private interment at Boiestown United Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to any branch of the SPCA.
