Obituary of MORT DUESLING
DUESLING, Lloyd Morton (Mort) – On Sunday, May 3rd, 2020, at the age of 85, following a brief battle with Cancer, surrounded by his loving family, Mort peacefully left this earth to be held in the loving arms of his Lord and Saviour. Beloved husband of the late Norma (Kendrick). Completely devoted and greatest encourager and supporter to his children and grandchildren Dave (and Debbie), Shoni (and Lean Sing), Carrie (and Jordan), and Jessica Duesling, Nancy (and Terry) Girard, Joshua, Caleb, and Bethany Girard. Dear brother of Ruth Salerne and the late Keith, Paul, and Wayne Duesling. Mort will also be sadly missed by his extended family, his church family and his many friends. Mort was a partner with Dave of Duesling Trucking & Excavating, a business which he started over 50 years ago. Prior to this, he worked as a licensed mechanic. Mort served on the Waterford Fire Department for 14 years, retiring as a Captain. Mort had a great love for old cars, Bluegrass, Country and Gospel music, with his favourite group being “Grandpa Mort’s Family Wannabe Bluegrass Band”. He is now playing a golden harmonica in Heaven! Mort was very well known in the community but to his family, the most important thing was “he was our’s”. Family and being together meant everything to Dad! From the words of one of dad’s favourite songs, Mort was so excited to “shake His Saviour’s hand. What a day that will be!” A family graveside service will be held at Waterford Greenwood Cemetery. Donations to Boston Baptist Church would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements entrusted with THOMPSON-MOTT FUNERAL HOME, Waterford
