Mildred Elizabeth Hoefer October 23rd 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mildred Elizabeth Hoefer on October 23 at the age of 78. Betty was born in Vernon, BC to Mildred and James Stanley Bowcock, and grew up in Rossland, BC with her three sisters and her brother. She met the love of her life, Rolph, in Vancouver as a teenager. They married in 1963 and began their family with children; Michael (Tammy), Anne (John), and Peter (Darleen). They built two houses in the lower mainland before deciding to move to Spallumcheen in 1972, beginning their new farming life! Betty completed her nurses training after high school but worked at the bank of Montreal before starting her family. She and Rolph built their farm to a business that helped them teach their kids many principles— especially that love, hard work and perseverance led to success! We have many amazing memories of work and play and mischief that we had together. Betty loved math and was a whiz with numbers. She was the farm manager as well as took on all the medical management of the livestock, and true “partner” with Rolph. Betty worked through many medical challenges with MS, cancer, and stroke, but showed us her strength throughout. Betty was a loyal and devoted wife, daughter, sister, auntie, Mom, “Mommom”, and friend. She was predeceased by her parents, and her sisters Colleen (Robert, Bob), Lynne (Theo) and Roberta (Fred). She will be deeply missed by her family; husband Rolph, brother Stan (Kathy), children, nieces and nephews, grandchildren Bryce, Jen, Megan, Cole, Amelia, Ava, and Myah, and her two great grandchildren McKenna and Dawson.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Mildred Elizabeth Hoefer October 23rd 2020..
