Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Brother Michale Creanza better known as Mike. He was born in Vancouver BC on February 25, 1950 to parents Mike and Valerie Creanza. He passed away on August 25, 2020 in Kelowna, BC.
The highlight of his life was when Jim and Ileene Taylor and their 4 children welcomed him into their house as one of their own. He was a mischievous teenager and kept them on their toes. They helped guide him into the loving and caring person he became.
They encouraged him to find his biological family. When he met his dad they both were able to trace his sister Rose, who lived in Dawson Creek. There he learned he was an uncle to a niece and a nephew. Now a new adventure began.
He had many different jobs but the most rewarding was working for Safeway where he developed a new family and friends whom he always had a fond appreciation for. He lived at the Columbus Centennial Apartments for many years making new friends and family along the way,
He loved his sports teams, especially the Vancouver Canucks, the Toronto Blue Jays, the BC Lions and the Seattle Sea hawks. He was very knowledgeable and challenged you to question it with a twinkle in his eye.
In 2017 with the help of his niece Kara, we found another sister, April who lives in Culver City California. So off to Las Vegas in October 2017 to meet her. What a wonderful weekend for everyone involved. He even got to play some slots which he loved. Mike also loved to play bingo as well.
He is survived by his big sister, Rose, her husband Ted, niece Theresa and Kent Schmidt. Great nephews Travis, Taran and Tanner. His nephew Bob and Kara Schilds, great nieces Tiana and Katelyn. Little Sister April and Gregory Wright, nephews Stuart and Malcolm. Uncle John and June Creanza as well as cousins Johnny Jr, Tony and Dena.
Donations may be made to the Cerebral Palsy Association of BC 330 409 Granville Street Vancouver BC V6C 1T2 or a charity of your choice.
Michale was cremated and no formal service will be held due to covid-19 restrictions and Social Distancing.
